I had a chance to talk with Margaret Bennett on the return ferry ride. When she heard that I would be seeing Cheyenne Brown is a few days, she texted Cheyenne to say that she'd met me. Cheyenne plays on Margaret's recording Trip To Aberfeldy.
In the evening, Margaret relayed songs and stories she had collected in her research for her book Scottish Customs From the Cradle to the Grave. The animated older woman in the red blouse behind Margaret was not in our group, but she listened intently with palpable delight to the whole performance lecture.
