Willow Tea Room
Today was a long day of driving to Skye, but before leaving Glasgow I wanted to take my only opportunity to see the Willow Tea Room that was designed by Charles Rennie Mackintosh.
I'm trying to figure this out...are the windows we see in the background on the front of the building? If so, where are they in relationship to the windows in the more formal tea room?
What wonderful pictures and commentary! You have created a moveable feast of landscape, buildings and ruins, architecture, art and music--as well as food. You have a marvelous permanent reacord of your trip.
The windows are in the back of the building. There are skylights overhead with a wood lattice drop ceiling. The formal dining room is one floor higher and at the front of the building. Incidentally, the Willow Tea Room is behind a jewelry store front and up some stairs. But the jewelry store sells some Mackintosh designs.
Thanks Robin! Part of me is really liking this medium.
