This marker is on the Melrose Abbey grounds. It shows where a casket containing a heart was found. Legend says it is the heart of Robert the Bruce. Robert the Bruce defeated the English in 1314 and became the King of Scotland. His descendants ruled Scotland for the next 400 years.
