Traquair House

In the afternoon, we went to Traquair House. It is the oldest continuously inhabited house in Scotland. It has been inhabited for over 1,000 years. For the past several years it has been owned by Jacobites (supporters of the Catholic Stuarts claim to the throne). Therefor, it has a chapel and a priest’s quarters with a hidden staircase for hasty getaways from aggressors.
